Surf Camp & Club
There are great waves in Jiquilillo and they are ideal for beginner and intermediate surfers. You can be sure that the waves are uncrowded and friendly, where you will be practicing your turns with both fellow guests and the local kids who are attending our Surf Club. For the more advanced surfer, there are beach breaks and offshore surfing in the river mouth of Estero Padre Ramos and a point break at Isla Asseradores.
The Surf Camp and Club has been a success for a year now. Participants in club have learned how to maintain surf boards, have advanced in skill, and are currently running the club on their own. Their skills are now being used to provide surf lessons to fellow peers and guests in Spanish. Hamilton Jose Espinoza, 14 years old, has been surfing for just a year now and is in charge of Rancho Esperanza's ding repair shop.

For the past three years, Jiquilillo has seen an increase in surf tourism. We are encouraging more local kids to get involved in this popular sport. Surfing provides both a new sporting activity and also a new positive outlet for Jiquilillo's youth.
All Surf Club participants must meet every Saturday to volunteer in a social service for the community. This takes various forms and includes cleaning the beach and road within the community, and maintaining the grounds of our local primary school. Our goal is to have more kids in the water and to have them more consciously aware of their local environment.
We currently have twelve local kids participating in Surf Club. As they advance in skill, it is our hope that they will become Jiquilillo's future surf instructors, guides, and run the ding repair workshops for the future surfers who visit this area.
Help us with Surf Club
If you are an experienced surfer who speaks a minimum of intermediate Spanish, we need your help to teach local kids how to surf. We especially need females who can encourage local girls to experience this new sport.
If you are at the end of your surf holiday, we are looking for surfers to donate their boards and equipment to the Surf Club as surf boards are difficult to find here. You will be rewarded free accomodation in our dormitory.

Surf Camp
Through our Surf Camp, we offer a number of services for our guests. These include board rentals, ding repair, surf lessons, and offshore surfing.
Board rentals
We offer $10 board rentals for our guests. In total we have nineteen surfboards to choose from. They range from 7'8" long boards to 5'10" short boards including two beginner boards that are great fun to learn on.
Ding repair
We offer ding repairs for epoxy and fiber glass boards. Proceeds will directly covers costs of materials and labor. Ding repair start at $40.
Surf lessons
We offer surf lessons for all levels. You can choose to take a lesson in English, with Nate or volunteers who are working with us, or in Spanish with a surf club participant. One hour lesson is $10. This does not include board rental.
Offshore boat ferries
As surfing becomes popular in Jiquilillo, we are working directly with local fishermen to provide boat ferries to offshore breaks and nearby beaches such as Boom Wavos located in Asseradores and the off shore point break on Isla Asseradores. Boat ferry services begin at $100, maximum of five people with gear.
